We got this last christmas for some cousins (5 year old and 7 year old) and they absolutely adored the set. Surprisingly, it even had all the adults wanting a go on it as well! And just to clarify, this is not just a set that makes the cars go round and round, (i have experienced one of those, very boring.) the scalectrix simpsons set can alter the speed of the cars at your will, making it a matter of jugement how fast to go - too slow and your opponent is way ahead of you on the lap, but too fast and you fly off the track at the bend! Quite honestly, great fun and hours of entertainment.

My son loves Simpsons and flipped when he got this at Christmas, he literally played with it for hours. This is a micro Scalextric set but still has all the action of the larger Scalextric sets. You can either race with Homer or Bart Simpson around the circuit to see who can reach the finish post in first place. My son always plays Bart and I'm pretty much chasing him round the track coming in second place .. Doh !

My son received this as a gift for his 5th birthday and loves playing it with his older brother who is 8 years old. The skateboards do fly off the track if you go too fast and the cardbard used at the end to make the high bend is a bit wobbly, but overall a great starting set for this age group.
